Pakistani Police Official, Saqib Mehmoud, said strong thunderstorms hit Islamabad and adjacent regions on Wednesday night, killing 34 people and causing prolonged power outages.

He said 10 deaths were reported and more than 50 people were injured. Mehmoud said most victims were hit by falling trees and signboards, with winds gusting around 150 kilometres per hour.

Rescue Official, Farooq Butt, said more than 16 people died in Rawalpindi near the capital and 65 people were hospitalised.
He said eight people died in the north-western province of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and up to 30 were being treated for injuries.

Butt said the storm uprooted electricity pools in many areas, causing a 12-hour power breakdown in parts of the province.

Meanwhile, the meteorological department in Islamabad has predicted more storms and heavy rains in the north-western region. Meteorological Official, Mohamed Hanif, said a storm last year in the same region killed 44 people, prompting the government to warn that more needed to be done to tackle climate change.

He said this should have served as an eye opener for policy makers to be more proactive. Hanif said unfortunately no action was taken.

Bodies of at least 25 refugees washed up in western Libya

Al-Khamis Al-Bosaifi said aid workers were still recovering the bodies, many of them women, and that the circumstances in which the migrants died were not clear. 

The bodies of at least 25 migrants who drowned trying to cross the Mediterranean were found washed up on a beach in western Libya near the city of Zuwara on Thursday, a Red Crescent official said on Thursday.

Hundreds of migrants have died in boat accidents this week amid a surge in departures from the North African coast towards Italy. Many of the boats are believed to have left from the shore around Zuwara and Sabratha in Libya's northwest.

Al-Khamis Al-Bosaifi said aid workers were still recovering the bodies, many of them women, and that the circumstances in which the migrants died were not clear.

A coastguard spokesman in Tripoli said no migrant boats had been intercepted over the past two days, with rougher seas preventing patrols.

So far this year more than 40,000 migrants have crossed the Mediterranean Sea from North Africa to Italy by paying people smugglers for the journey, broadly in line with a steep increase in numbers since 2014.

Smugglers in Libya have exploited political chaos and lawlessness to expand their activities along routes from sub-Saharan Africa, often working with local militias.

The head of the European Union's Mediterranean naval mission recently said that people smuggling was estimated to account for between 30 and 50 percent of the gross domestic product in northwestern Libya.

Migrants pay smugglers hundreds of dollars for a place on boats, often flimsy inflatable craft that either sink or are picked up by international rescue missions.

It all started yesterday 31st May, when
Annie Idibia took to her IG page to share
her thoughts on child abuse and how it
could be caused by separated parents not
letting each other see their children. After a
comment, she sent a shout-out to Sumbo
Adeoye, one of 2Face’s babymamas, for
being a great woman.

Now, Eniola, a sister to another one of
2face’s babymamas, Pero Adeniyi, has come
for Annie over her posts and is saying quite
a number of things.

According to Eniola, Annie is not in the best
of moods because her hubby, 2Face took
time off to throw a birthday party for his
daughter with Pero.
2face allegedly traveled to see his kids
yesterday and this is his first visit to them in
over two years. Eniola alleged that Annie
harasses Pero with text messages any time
Mr Idibia attempts to reach out to his kids
with Sumbo and she wants to cut the ties
between her hubby and them.
Eniola added that even 2face has to hide to
contact his kids so as not to face Annie’s
wrath.
Annie responded to the allegations by asking
Eniola to get off her Instagram page but
Eniola continued to fire back.
